Hosted by Biodiversity Committee, Chinese Academy of Sciences (BC-CAS), co-organized by Ecological Society of Beijing, funded by CAS, the 10th Cross-Straits Workshop on Forest Dynamics Plots was held in Beijing, China on 14 October 2016. The workshop was attended by more than 170 participants, including 5 participants form Taiwan.
Two plenary talks were given by Prof. Jian Zhang from East China Normal University and Prof. Chengjin Chu from Sun Yat-Sen University. Twentysix talks were focused on forest dynamics, spatial patterns, diversity maintaining mechanisms, forest carbon stock and dynamics and so on. Four talks focused on the development and the future of the plots. The participants extensively discussed these topics during the workshop.
Chaired by Prof. Wanhui Ye, South China Botanical Garden, CAS. The participants discussed the future development of Chinese Forest Biodiversity Monitoring Network (CForBio), most of them spoke positively and shared their opinions.
